How to Order Custom Promotional Products: A Buyer’s Checklist

A practical sequence for selecting logo products, checking quantity pricing, requesting samples and confirming artwork and delivery.

What information is needed to order custom promotional products?

Start with five details: the product URL or SKU, quantity, logo requirements, delivery destination and required arrival date. These details define the item, decoration and schedule that need to be priced together. At Cyan Promo LLC (PA), you can browse products first and then submit a quote request for confirmation.

1. Match the product to its intended use

For note-taking or conference kits, compare four-color pens and stylus pens. For carrying event materials, compare the dimensions and pocket layouts of canvas tote bags. For employee or fitness programs, review the capacity, material and format of water bottles.

These are use-case suggestions, not claims that one product guarantees a marketing result. Choose using the individual specifications and, where useful, a sample.

2. Compare MOQ and the price for your actual quantity

Minimum order quantity is the smallest listed quantity for a product. A starting unit price can belong to a higher quantity tier. Use the same quantity when comparing products, and confirm the logo specification and freight assumptions behind each quote.

For a worked example with actual catalog figures, read custom four-color pen pricing and MOQ. Prices are product-specific and should be checked on the current listing before ordering.

3. Separate blank samples from customized samples

Blank samples are free; shipping is charged. They let you evaluate the item itself. A pre-production sample with your logo is available for a fee, with the applicable setup, production and shipping charges confirmed in the sample quote. See the sample policy for request details.

4. Prepare the artwork and approve the proof

Vector PDF, AI or EPS files with outlined fonts are preferred. Raster artwork should be high resolution at the final imprint size. Specify the product, logo placement and color requirements so the team can confirm a suitable decoration method.

Before approving a proof, check spelling, contact details, logo proportions, size, placement and colors. Production begins only after approval. The artwork guide explains the preparation steps.

5. Plan production and shipping separately

A production lead time is not an arrival date. Your schedule needs to account for artwork approval, any sample review, production and transport. Shipping method and destination affect transit; confirm the complete timeline against your event date.

Shipping inclusions vary by listing and quotation. If a product includes sea shipping to one U.S. location, confirm whether that option fits the destination and timing of your order. Review the shipping guide.
